These ERA 193-31 60mm Backset Double Locking Nightlatch Door Lock Brass Body Brass Cylinder automatically deadlock on closing, due to the snib, preventing the main latch bolt being 'slipped' open from outside. Ideally suited for solid and glazed panelled timber doors between 35mm and 60mm thick. The modern styling and solid construction have helped make this a popular nightlatch. Nightlatches are a common locking product found mainly on residential front doors. They ordinarily feature a single sprung latch locking point which engages automatically when the door is shut, securing the property.

This nightlatch features a means of mechanical holdback which allows the sprung latch bolt to be physically retained within the body of the nightlatch. When this feature is activated, the latch will not engage when the door closes, therefore the door will not be secured. Key operated from outside and lever operated inside with an internal cylinder within the lever handle. The internal handle can be deadlocked by an anti-clockwise turn of the key from the inside securing the lock against forced entry.
